On this beautiful summer morning (sunny and 70° when I began at 8:15, and 77° when I finished), I just rode an easy pair of consecutive round trips to Marsh Park, not pushing myself very hard, and completed the 18 miles in a lazy 2:14. I was happy to see my friend Ron Cundiff, though I'm sure I wouldn't have recognized him had he not called out to me..
TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Michelle is AWESOME. (That, however, is certainly no surprise.) We just spent all afternoon (a 4+ hour stretch) in the summer heat (currently, at 5 p.m., it's 87°) putting together the rack on which I can carry my trike on the car. (They promise "easy assembly—within minutes." HA! ) And when I say "we" did it, I use the word 'we' very loosely—my role was largely one of observation and helping, as in the old days when I assisted Dad. At one point, I asked her if she felt sorry for him, having had to deal with me, and she laughed, "NO! I'm in it for the long haul. He probably feels sorry for ME, looking down with a grin!"
