109th ride of 2016 - Friday, 7/1/2016

TOTAL MILEAGE FOR 2016 - 1642.4

This morning I went out to ride just past 9:00, and intended to do three round trips. But early in my ride, when I went under a tree that hangs across the trail, the branches snagged one of my rear spinners and tore it out, breaking the cord that attaches it. I was able to go back and retrieve it, and place the (sectioned) pole back into position—but without the cord securing it, I was nervous about it falling out, and eager to get home to tape it together securely, so I limited myself to one round trip to Marsh Park. (I'm such a good rationalizer!)
Anyway, this 10-mile ride (in cloudy, cool conditions in the low sixties) took me 1:12, as I rode slowly and carefully, continuing to pivot and check over my shoulder to be sure the spinner was still there. Once I got home, I was happy to be able to get over to Meijer to procure some tape, and then return home to firm it up.
